Mission Statement

Save the Children in Sri Lanka (SCiSL) is part of the worlds  oldest, independent international  alliance for children  working for the protection and full realization of children’s rights. Save the Children was founded in 1919 in England and today has 26 member countries working in 111 countries worldwide. In  Sri Lanka Save the Children has been working for the past 30 yearsars.

To strive for increased respect for and realisation of child rights in Sri Lanka for children's survival, development, protection and participation.

For the purpose of improved recognition of children's rights as citizens with regard to more equitable access to quality education services and greater protection from violence and abuse.

Save the Children in Sri Lanka works directly as well as through partnerships. Some of our partners are government ministries, government departments, INGOs, local NGOs, community based organizations and also the children.

A staff of 280 both national and international work in the Sri Lanka Programme.  Our offices are located in Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Vavuniya, Mannar, Anuradhapura, Colombo and Matara. Our partner organizations are located throughout the country.
