This
is the website of the United Nations agencies represented
in Sri Lanka to share information about UN programs
and activities in the country.
The
United Nations began its work in Sri Lanka in 1952
making it was one of the first countries in the
world to have a UN program.
Three
years later on 14th December 1955 Sri Lanka was
admitted as a member state of the United Nations
and ever since then the UN and the people of this
country have shared a very special and binding relationship.
