Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why is Humanitarian Information important?
Access to timely and accurate information is essential for decision makers to make effective interventions to support life saving relief efforts. The Humanitarian Portal website (www.hpsl.lk) exists to provide you with a wide variety of information from relief actors related to the situation, needs and response. But access to information is only part of the story. Our goal is to help the relief community improve the management of information, by making use of basic ‘building blocks’ such as place codes used to make maps and meeting minutes used to highlight gaps and priorities.
