Interagency Mission to Totota-camps in Bong County

Date: Friday, 17 October 2003.

Agencies: OCHA, HIC, UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP, USAID/DART,  NRC (Norwegian Refugee Council).

Visited Camps: E.J. Yancy, Maimu 1, Maimu 2, Maimu 3, Salala

Goals of the mission were to assess and report on

• the current numbers of camp inhabitants in relation to the capacity of the camps and identify enlargement and/or fresh areas for additional camps;

• security in the camps, including protection of vulnerable groups;

• camp management needs;

• food;

• nfis

• child protection;

• family tracing and reunification;

• water and sanitation;

• health; including reproductive health, HIV/AIDS awareness and clinics, etc

• education;

• community services including GBV prevention and rehabilitation, psychological counseling.

The mission will make arrangements or recommendations for arrangements to address the needs thus identified.
