Introduction and Background to the Updated Rapid Assessment
Process
The Rapid Assessment Process (RAP) was developed by the
humanitarian agencies under the guidance of the Office of the
Humanitarian Coordinator for Liberia (UNOHCI). The RAP database will
serve a number of purposes:
-
It will provide a straightforward, easy to use, and immediately
mappable database on current conditions at settlement, district,
and governorate levels.
-
The database can be a stand-alone reference for operational
planning and targeting of activities.
-
It can serve as a
platform for linking with more specific or in-depth assessment
material, so that they can be used in the larger context of
Liberia’s reconstruction.
The RAP is a product of and for the entire
humanitarian community, defined and implemented by humanitarian
organizations.
