Humanitarian Information Centre for Iraq

The HIC (Humanitarian Information Centre) for Iraq was an OCHA initiative, operational from March 2003 to May 2004. By June of that year, the HIC’s data repository had been handed over to the Iraqi Central Statistical Organisation (CSO) and HIC products and services that supported humanitarian coordination were transferred to UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI). United Nations Humanitarian Information Centre for the occupied Palestinian territory

The aim of the oPt-HIC is to serve as a focal point for comprehensive and relevant information on the humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territory. It is a resource for decision-makers and operational organisations to assist the humanitarian response in country. The Geographic Information Support Team (GIST) is an inter-agency initiative that promotes the use of geographic data standards and geographical information systems (GIS) in support of humanitarian relief operations.
