Our Mission : To improve the well-being of vulnerable populations in developing countries, by improving animal health and production The aim of Vétérinaires Sans Frontières is to improve the living conditions of vulnerable people in developing countries who depend directly or indirectly on livestock by improving livestock keeping. In the third world, livestock often signifies the beginning and end of all life. Livestock plays a crucial role in providing food and for the income of families. Veterinary medicine, and hence the guarantee of a healthy herd, is often non-existent or inappropriate. VSF vets support local livestock owners with training, technology and know-how about animal production, animal health and using livestock to sustain and develop themselves. The activities are implemented after through consultation with all stakeholders involved. Countries in the region: Vétérinaires Sans Frontières works in Africa and currently has projects in Sudan, Kenya, Niger, Mali, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Rwanda and the Comores.
