Partnership Activities: Overview
Current Activities
Future directions
The Environmental Emergencies Partnership is committed to working with domestic and international stakeholders to identify and implement practical initiatives in support of Partnership Objectives.
Current Partnership activities are based on feedback from the May 15, 2003 Partners
meeting, and on the premise that, through open dialogue and communication between Partners, opportunities to increase environmental emergency effectiveness will be identified and acted upon.
The Partnership is engaged in a growing number of practical initiatives in collaboration with Partners, including:
- Efforts to harmonize emergency notification requirements between
international organizations;
- Building capacity through contributions to training and
development courses;
- Developing and sharing the lessons learned from environmental
emergencies; and,
- Developing this website to provide information on the Partnership, provide a forum for information exchange, and a platform to develop other projects.
The Partnership is also engaged in activities to build the Partnership structure and mechanism,
including:
- Partnership outreach to develop new relationships and engage more stakeholders in the reduction of environmental emergencies
-
Communications and policy development with existing partners.
Future directions
The Partnership will continue to grow and develop through a number of mechanisms:
- Feedback and direction from a planned Partnership Task Group;
-
Synergies and opportunities identified through Partner discussion and
dialogue; and,
- Your feedback, ideas and suggestions via the Partners
Corner.
